The Somerset Raritan Valley Sewerage Authority, established in 1958, is a regional wastewater treatment plant located in Somerset County, New Jersey. We are a local governmental agency serving seven communities; Branchburg, Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Manville, Raritan, Somerville and Warren.
Located in Somerset County, the Authority operates a 23.0 MGD secondary advanced wastewater treatment system. Sludge is managed with a fluidized bed incinerator.
In addition to the processing of wastewater, the Somerset Raritan Valley Sewerage Authority accepts deliveries of graywater, septage and sludge. The Authority does not accept Sludge Cake.
The Authority is governed by a Board of Commissioners. Each community is represented by two Commissioners, as appointed by their respective communities. All Authority business is conducted at meetings of the Board of Commissioners who convene each fourth Monday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and the schedule of such meetings are posted on the Authority bulletin board in the Administrative Office as well as published in the local papers. Meetings convene at 7:00 p.m.
The Authority business office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to conduct business.
